Château Lynch-Bages 2012 - red

The beautiful hamlet of Bages at the gates of Pauillac is the home of this vineyard founded by Irish immigrant, John Lynch. In the Pauillac appellation, the famous wines such as Ch. Mounton and Ch. Lafite, Château Latour grow. - Of the 5ème-Crus district, Lynch-Bages is one of the most famous and popular vineyards and nowadays can be measured alongside many 2èmes and 3èmes Crus. The wine exhibits depth regarding colour, extract and concentration, as well as well-integrated tannins, likewise a smooth, dark fruit with an air of mint. After 5-10 years of storage in a bottle, this almost profuse Pauillac is irresistible. Amongst wine connoisseurs, Lynch-Bages is a "safe bet"! James Suckling rated this excellent wine with 92/100 points. His comment: "Aromas of blackcurrants, blueberries and lemons follow through to a full body, firm tannins and a fresh, clean finish. A little tight now but excellent. Precision to this. Back ended. Better in 2018."
