Château Doisy-Daëne "sec" 2014 AC/MC - white

Are you familiar with the famous “Y”, the ultra-rare dry, white wine by Château d´Yquem with a price tag of approx. 150 Francs per bottle? This Doisy-Daëne sec is in a very similar league, however it only costs a fraction of its world-famous precedent. It exhibits an aroma of apricot, melon and peach, alongside a bit of lemon grass and passion fruit. The Wine Spectator has already awarded it 93+ points, along with an enthusiastic annotation. The Doisy-Daëne grows on the Barsac-Plateau (red, limy sand). Its “father” is Denis Dubourdieu, the world-famous professor for oenology and a Sauternes icon, who sadly recently passed away. In brief: Doisy-Daëne Sec, a great drinking experience for little money.

  • Origin: Barsac, Bordeaux, France
  • Vintage: 2014 (actual year may vary)
  • Grape Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
  • Recommendation: Drink as an apéro, with seafood and soft cheeses
  • Maturity: from now until 2020
  • Ideal drinking temperature: 10°C - 12°C
  • White wine; bottle of 75 cl
