Primitivo di Manduria Notturno 2013 - red

The Cantine "Due Palme" in the Brindisi Province (Apulien) is a cooperative founded in 1989 with about 1,200 members today and one of the most important producers of quality wines in Southern Italy. The Primitivo grapes delivered from small vintners in the Provinces of Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto provides modern interpreted wines of high density and concentration that with their sweet, ripe fruit also maintain their classic personality. The Cantine Due Palme wines have been offering consumers consistency and authenticity of the highest level for years. Since the nineties, considerable investment has been put into the Cantina Due Palma, which has clearly brought the company forward with regard to its growth, development and the most modern technologies.

In the production at the individual vintner operations, as at Due Palma, the absolute most natural, gentle and sustainable production is considered. Unfortunately many wines from the Primitivo grapes exhibit excessive alcohol and residual sugar. They are known as "blender wines" that provide joy initially. However the wine enjoyment is brief! The Primitivo Notturno is a wine of elegance and class in its structure and harmony, as well as its soft tannins. It does not require further storage and is matured for enjoying.

  • Origin: Apulia, Italy
  • Year: 2013 (year subject to change)
  • Grape varieties: Primitivo
  • Recommendation: A good accompaniment to dark meats, ragout – brief for all hearty dishes
  • Red wine; bottle of 75 cl
