Château Pichon-Longueville Baron Pauillac 2006 - red

Since the end of the 80s, this winery belongs to the AXA insurance company whose huge investments in the Pichon-Baron vineyard and cellar have now become one of the superstars of Médoc. The estate owes its name to Baron Jacques de Pichon-Longueville. He was President of the Parliament of Bordeaux some 400 years ago. The immediate neighbour of the Pichon-Baron estate is the famous Château Latour winery. In this wine one finds really everything that makes up a top Pauillac: dark colour, a delicate cassis bouquet. In addition, there are silky tannins that are perfectly integrated into this luscious wine. A superb wine where the big terroir comes to the fore.

  • Appellation: 2ème Grand Cru Classé; AC/MC Pauillac, Bordeaux
  • Vintage: 2006 (vintage changes are reserved)
  • Grape varieties: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot
  • Recommendation: Good with truffles, red meat, most of all lamb, fondue bourguignonne
  • Maturity: from now until 2035
  • Red wine; bottle of 75 cl
